Guests: Bob/Pat Wyble, Barb Westermeier/other Barb
Meeting Called to Order 9:30 AM
Prayer: Carol Ellis
Pledge to Flag/Good Sam Pledge
Introduction of Guests: Bob & Pat Wyble, Barb Westermeier & Barb, Welcome back to Dave and Debbie Swanson. Barb Westermeier joined and is our newest member. Motion to dispense of reading of August minutes and accept the August minutes: Terry/Dick Elliott. All in favor and motion carried.
Correspondence: We received a nice thank you card from Carol Ellis for the Quilt we presented last month. She will bring the quilt around so everyone can see it. The thank you card was passed around.
Treasurer Report (Keith): Nothing to report-not present
Vice President Report (Rich Ward): Just a reminder that Carol Ward is collecting money for the catered dinner tonight. Cost is $10/person.
Wagon Master Report (Terry Sokol): June 2017 reservations can be made at Lakeside State Park. Tentative October 2017 at Genesee Country Camp Ground. Not sure they can accommodate a large group. Only Genesee Country and Southwoods are opened later in the season. Deb & Bob Reumann volunteered to host the October campout this year.
Crafts (Diana): Halloween witch wreath cost is between $16-$20 depending on stockings. There is also a fall wreath. Crafts will be set up after meeting.
Old Business: We still did not come to final decision about camp fees and firewood. No expenses incurred this week end, so we should not charge for this month. $3/person for firewood is still not settled, but we have enough wood to last this campout. Week end should be free of charge.
Motion made by Terri that if we need to purchase wood, we can decide what should be done on an “as needed basis”. Motion was seconded by Marge. All in favor and carried.
Next month (Southwoods) will provide some free wood for our group. Dick Elliott said he lives close by and can get/bring extra wood if needed.
Last month we discussed problems at the State Rally in July. We need to decide what to do with our chapter. We can either de-charter or stay and not participate in activities with no penalty. Motion made by Jerry Meyer/seconded Bob Reumann that we stay in Good Sam’s as a current chapter. We do not have to participate in any functions. All in favor and motion carried.
Diana will update and send out a new e-mail list and also a new roster list for everyone. She will also have extra copies at the October meeting.
New Business: The raffle at the Rally in July did not go well. There were several prizes not raffled off that we will raffle within our group. Last month Maryann won a set of 2 chairs. This month we are raffling a portable wagon. Eddie is selling tickets for the raffle drawing which will be awarded after dinner tonight. Last month we collected $104 that will be donated 50/50 to Operations Injured Soldiers and Camp Get Away. We hope to collect just as much to match or surpass last month’s total. Tickets are $1/each, $2/3, or $5/7. Please be supportive. Nice prize!
There may be a Chinese Auction also to be held after dinner tonight. Prizes are leftovers from the Rally Stage Prizes. Cost TBD.
Discussion of a Halloween Theme for October camp out. We can have costumes, decorate units and a pumpkin carving/decorating as well as trick or treating. Prizes can be awarded for the Best Pumpkin, Best Costume and Best Rig Decorations. Anyone not participating can be a judge.
Southwoods also has a haunted house they set up all month. There is a $5 fee and if you want to go again it is discounted for $3 on the same day.
Dick Cox may have a representative from Operation Injured Soldiers to discuss the program and meet with our group next month. He is still finalizing the details.
For the Good of the Club: Three of our members celebrated birthdays recently: Bonnie, Bob Wyble and Marge. Happy Birthday to all.
We have 22 units in attendance this weekend. 19 are already signed up for Lakeside for June 2017.
Motion made by Jerry/Mary Thompson to adjourn. All in favor and meeting ended at 9:55am.
Reminder to bring your place settings to dinner tonight. Dinner is at 5:30 at the shelter.
Minutes Respectfully Submitted,
